I, Matt Kuhns have met my food with a knife in kitchens, butcher shops, or in the field ever since I was a little guy. I moved to Portland, Oregon, with my soon to be wife Angeleque, from Tennessee to attend culinary school. Little did I know that the Pacific Northwest would be hanging on to me. The beauty and bounty of Oregon is just an incredible place to work and live. I worked as cook and sous chef at several Portland fine dining establishments starting in 2000, and moved on to work in and manage meat shops for a decade. This made for lots of knife work and I developed a keen eye for how to best maintain my knives. Twenty years of professional culinary experience has taught me that nothing can be more important than a sharp knife in the kitchen. I see the knife as an extension of my hand. This passion for knives has led me to want to share it with you by sharpening and helping you care for your knives. Everyday in the kitchen, in the garden, or at work will be better with sharper tools. Let me show you what I can do for you.
